My story from the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh Ops 1971-72

Major General (Retd) Sujan Singh Uban, PVSM, AVSM, the former Inspector General of Special Frontier Force had published his story titled The Phantoms of Chittagong : The Fifth Army in Bangladesh and had narrated the successful military operation in Chittagong Hill Tracts in the 1971 War of Liberation of Bangladesh. THE FIFTH ARMY – THE UNTOLD STORY FROM CHITTAGONG HILL TRACTS

In the history of Indian Army Medical Corps, I had the unique privilege to perform the tasks of Nursing Assistant and Ambulance Assistant in providing patient care and comfort when I had accompanied on foot and medically evacuated my battle casualties during the Indo-Pak War of 1971.

MS-8466 Captain. R. Rudra Narasimham, AMC/SSC had served as a Medical Officer at Headquarters Establishment No. 22 from September 1971 to December 1974. He does not want to forfeit his right to claim the gallantry award of VIR CHAKRA which was recommended but not actually awarded.

Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw belonged to the Parsi Community which had arrived in India from Persia. I started my military career while Sam Bahadur was the Indian Army’s top Commander. He led Indian Armed Forces to a great victory during Indo-Pak War of 1971. This military experience has helped me while I had participated in Security and Intelligence Operations conducted at Strait of Hormuz, Persian Gulf while serving in the Land Forces of Sultanate of Oman.
