Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw belonged to the Parsi Community which had arrived in India from Persia. I started my military career while Sam Bahadur was the Indian Army’s top Commander. He led Indian Armed Forces to a great victory during Indo-Pak War of 1971. This military experience has helped me while I had participated in Security and Intelligence Operations conducted at Strait of Hormuz, Persian Gulf while serving in the Land Forces of Sultanate of Oman.
