ABOUT BHAVANAJAGAT

Welcome to Bhavanajagat and I invite you to read my page ‘About Bhavanajagat’ and get introduced to my ideas and thoughts which also describe my Indian Identity.”I am Consciousness, therefore I am” is my proposition to examine the status of man in nature, to understand human condition, to explain human existence, and to derive further truths. My physical condition in the material world may not describe my true identity. In the Indian Tradition, we are encouraged to think of Identity in relationship to an unchanging ‘Ultimate Reality’. At the same time, every idea, and thought that were expressed in the Land of India are firmly associated with the physical geography of the Land. I currently live in Ann Arbor, Michigan and when I look up towards the sky and find the Sun, I recognize the Sun as Vyomanatha and as one who traverses across ‘Vindhya Veedhi’, a path that traverses the Vindhya Mountains of India. When I see the Huron River that flows through the City of Ann Arbor, it instantly reminds me of the rivers such as Godavari, and Ganga that flow across the Land of India. Kindly share your ideas and thoughts in the spirit of Rig Vedic statement which reflects the idea of receiving noble thoughts from all directions. 1. Dear Sir,
With due respect to the great service rendered by you during the 71 war i would like to deplore all such efforts at asking for rewards and recognition for acts of valour, sacrifice or distinguished service rendered during mil service. Being a third generation soldier myself i feel it is utterly against the ethos of the armed forces to indulge in such practice.this shall only lead to lowering the value of gallantry awards. Please do what a soldier does best – stand proud with victory at your feet!!!

    1. Thanks Vikrant Shinde. I did not ask or approach any person that I should be recommended for a Gallantry Award. The Award was recommended in the true traditions of Military Service and to uphold the traditions of Military Service. How could I lower the value of a gallantry award? The Citation was initiated by my Unit Commander and was approved by the Task Force Commander in the Field. The Brigadier who had recommended the Citation had reaffirmed his action after twelve years while serving as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief at Hq Southern Command. After the 1971 War, I was posted out and I had no further contact with him and yet he had no problem in recalling the events. Colonel Iqbal Singh who was the Chief of Staff had written his remarks on my application on his own accord. I did not ask him for any favour. In my post, I had stated that I am seeking a recognition and acknowledgment for the existence of a Higher Force. I had performed my tasks not on account of my intelligence and physical abilities. How would you keep alive soldiers who are critically wounded with lung injuries, chest injuries, and head injuries? Have you ever been involved in an Infantry assault? I had mentioned that I did not carry even stretchers or resuscitation fluids. Since you are a third generation soldier, tell me about your experience about Battle Casualty Evacuation. How often you have seen a doctor at the actual site of combat? We did not establish a Regimental Aid Post popularly known as RAP.I had treated soldiers at the site of combat. I was their Nursing Assistant and their Ambulance Assistant. How many AMC Medical Officers you have known would perform those duties? How many AMC Regimental Medical officers know simple Bandage Techniques? Next time when you visit your Unit Medical Officer, just ask him to demonstrate the different kinds and techniques of applying a dressing and a Bandage. Then you would know that it is not easy to survive a Gun Shot Wound. If you really know a Doctor who actually knows how to apply a Bandage for a battle injury, Kindly let me know. I am not asking for a Citation to be written now. The Citation already exists on Records. I want to accept the Award in recognition of a Higher Force that made it possible.
