SUPREME LORD HARI, RAMA, AND KRISHNA – AN ELIXIR TO DESTROY THE POLLUTING EFFECTS OF STRESS
Humans appreciate the value of sound as a tool for obtaining relaxation, rejuvenation of spirit, for mental amusement and entertainment. The soothing effects of sound can provide us mental comfort, help in the healing and recovery process. Indian traditions claim that vocal sounds could be used as a medicine and the sounds could exert medicinal effects by taking advantage of the mind-body connection. Sound can undoubtedly affect our physiological response to stress. A person can become stress-resistant by simply chanting, or repeating the words Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Hare, Hare; Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama, Rama, Hare, Hare. This magical formula or Mantra could be said at any time of the day or night, and does not demand any prior preparation. It could be used while the person is fully engaged in other physical activities and does not require any special skills or talents like singing abilities. The words could be repeatedly in total silence and the chanter recites these words to himself and mentally recognizes and hears these sounds.
